Hane'ehavim V'hani'eemim B'chayeihem....

Uv'mosam Lo Nifradu.
..

This morning, Devorah and I drove to Har Hazeisim to spend some time by the kevarim of Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg, Hy"d. (They are buried in Chelkas Kollel Chabad, gush 4 chelkah 5)

No one was around and it was very eerie. In the two fresh graves lay the bodies of a young couple who just a few days ago were going about their lives, spreading the word of Hashem. Gabi and Rivki were loved by all who knew them, and were reputed to be wonderful people.

Their time was up, and there was no way they could have lived any longer than they did.

Rashi says that when Yitzchok Avinu was on the akeidah the skies were opened and the malachim saw the akeidah and cried, and their tears made Yitzchok blind. Rav Shmuel Berenbaum zt"l said that only because the "skies were opened" did the malachim cry. Otherwise, they wouldn't have cried, because in the world above there is a clarity and understanding that everything is for the good.

Upstairs, in the world above, Gabi and Rivky are at peace. They now know why things had to end the way they did.
